Kate Hohorst was born in California but raised in Brazil, Mexico and Spain. She attended Mount Holyoke College and embarked on a banking carreer that spanned almost twenty years with Philadelphia Natioal Bank, Merrill Lynch, First Chicago and others. With four children in the Greenwich School System, she has a vested interest in ensuring they have the opportunity to find the best jobs they can.

Jim Hohorst studied engineering at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute before turning to banking in the 1970's. He had a banking career that spanned twenty-five years and included firms such as Citibank, Merrill Lynch and, most recently American Express. After leaving banking in 2001, Jim has worked on a number of technology-related projects, including a stint as CEO of QUODD Financial Services, an internet-based market-data company (Jim still services all of QUODD's back-office needs).
